Sensors for drilling applications and noise reference measurements

ASC

According to the manufacturer, the new uniaxial ASC QF acceleration sensors are characterized by a low noise density, high shock resistance and ultra-flat design. The capacitive ultra-low-noise sensors not only enable Measurement While Drilling (MWD) in drilling applications, but also the fine adjustment of active damper systems and high-precision noise reference measurements.

ASC QF sensors have been specially developed for these demanding applications. They are not only characterized by a measuring range of ± 3 g and ± 5 g and a frequency range of up to 700 Hz DC (± 3 dB). The ASC QF sensors also have a very low noise density of <1.2 μg / √Hz and, with their shock resistance of up to 1,500 g / 0.15 ms, are superior to quartz-based models (around 250 g). The sensors, which are only 8.2 mm high, can also be easily integrated into the tight installation spaces of drilling applications. In addition, the compact design is ideal for installation in active damping systems (e.g. optical benches) and in test and measurement applications.
