Scalable hardware platform for machine vision

Efco

With the IPC Eagle-Eyes AIH, Efco has developed a scalable hardware platform for machine vision. Scalable refers not only to the computing power of the CPU or the equipment with interfaces, but above all to the expandability of the housing - for up to two full-size PCI plug-in cards.

The Eagle-Eyes AIH is the bigger brother of the industrial PC Eagle-Eyes AIM. Both are based on the same high-performance motherboard. For this reason, images that were developed for applications on the AIM also run on the AIH without adaptation. The difference between the two industrial computers that can be seen at first glance: The larger housing of the AIH allows more interfaces to be accommodated. Where the AIM has four interfaces, the AIH has half a dozen each: GbE, USB 3.0 and serial.

Numerous Intel CPUs of the 6th and 7th generation can be used as arithmetic unit. This allows the computing power of the industrial computer to be flexibly adjusted. The internal SSD hard disk can be expanded using the externally accessible 2.5 “slot or operated in RAID modes 0, 1 and 5 for increased data security.
