Lenses for multiple depths of focus

Edmund Optics

Edmund Optics has expanded its offering with two new lens series from AdlOptica, which enable new applications in the field of laser optics.

The series includes lenses that minimize optical aberrations and offer improved focusing or multiple depths of focus for advanced materials processing.

The aplanatic aplanoXX lenses from AdlOptica were developed for ultra-short pulse solid-state lasers or fiber lasers and are optimized for 800 nm (Ti:sapphire) and 1030 nm (Tb:doped). They compensate for spherical aberration and coma when focusing light in glass, sapphire, silicon carbide, silicon, PMMA or other transparent materials. AdlOptica aplanoXX aplanatic lenses are ideal for glass micromachining, 3D nanofabrication, waveguide recording and selective laser etching.

AdlOptica's foXXus multi-focus lenses focus laser light to 1, 2 or 4 focal points along the optical axis, increasing the effective focal depth and enabling high-speed, excellent-quality cutting of glass, sapphire, silicon carbide or other brittle materials in multiple layers. The lenses are optimized for ultrafast solid-state lasers and fiber lasers such as Yb-doped lasers and Nd:YAG lasers with wavelengths of 515/1030 nm or 1064 nm.
