High-precision measurement of torsional vibrations

IfTA Systems

05.0922 - The laser tachometer Ifta LMM2 (Laser Measurement Module) is a fiber optic sensor that can be used in combination with an Ifta measuring system for non-contact measurement of rotational speed, angular velocity and vibration angle on rotors and shafts.

The measuring principle, which is based on optical reflection, is carried out with the help of a gear encoder or zebra tape attached to the rotating shaft. The high bandwidth and the narrow focus of the laser mean maximum precision. The sensor head consists of a single fiber optic cable and can therefore be placed even in places that are difficult to access. Ifta offers the sensor either as a plug-in module for Ifta measuring systems or in its own housing. The laser tachometer is characterized by high dynamics and reception sensitivity. To do this, it integrates seamlessly into the company's measurement and monitoring systems.
