Global shutter CMOS image sensors for mobile devices

Ams Osram has introduced its Mira product family, high-sensitivity pipelined CMOS image sensors with global shutter.

The latest model in the range, Mira 050, is highly sensitive to visible and near-infrared (NIR) light, enabling engineers to save space and power in portable and mobile devices. It is suitable for applications such as eye tracking, gesture recognition and context awareness in AR/VR/ MR headsets , object recognition in robots and 3D depth sensing for face recognition in smart door locks.

The Mira050 is designed to combine powerful technology with numerous ultra- low power features in a compact sensor. Even with full resolution and a frame rate of 120 fps , the power consumption is only 47 mW and even in standby mode the power consumption is very low at 60 µW.
