Flexible worker assistance system

The system is based on hand recognition with a 2D/3D camera system - this means that no annoying accessories are required on the wrist, as is common with other systems.

The assistance system ifm mate supports workers with manual activities in production or at packaging workstations. With an optical 2D/3D camera, it identifies the hands of the worker and thus recognizes whether a box was grabbed, for example. The hand recognition, which is based on powerful deep learning technology, is a central part of the system. Whether the worker is right-handed or left-handed plays just as little role in the recognition as the position of the hand. The assistance system consists of a computer with a touch monitor, the software and an optical sensor that records both a 2D video image and a 3D image. Thanks to hand recognition in the 2D camera image, the worker assistance system does not require additional aids such as VR glasses or trackers on the wrist.
