Flexible magnetic encoder ICs

iC-Haus

iC-Haus presents a new Hall line sensor: The iC-PVS combines a very flexibly configurable Hall array front end with a 56-bit low-power period counter and an integrated 6-bit interpolator. Battery-buffered, multiturn absolute encoders that work with conventional incremental measuring standards or gears can now also be implemented.

The generous mounting tolerances compared to classic absolute systems and largely freely scalable scanning diameters make the iC-PVS as a stand-alone solution an alternative for encoder systems with low to medium resolutions. Ultra-low-power technology (2… 30 µA) and an integrated battery monitor enable service-free operation for 10 years and more.

The iC-PVS supports pole wheels or linear scales with a pole width of 1.0 mm to 2.5 mm. Ferrous gears with a tooth module of 0.3 to 1.5 can be scanned using a support magnet. With 128 signal periods, for example, angle resolutions of 13 bits can be achieved.
