Elastic double joint bearing

With the igubal GPZM coupling rod, igus is now introducing a double spherical plain bearing that is not only lubrication and maintenance-free, but also 20 percent more flexible than the conventional solution thanks to a new housing material. This tightly encloses the ball stud, prevents the ingress of dirt and increases the reliability of the moving application.

The double joint bearing is extremely flexible and at the same time resilient. Tests in the 3,800 square meter igus laboratory showed a 25 percent higher elasticity of the material RN283 compared to the standard material igumid G.

The housing material ensures that the ball stud is firmly enclosed during movement, so that it is sealed against the ingress of dust and dirt. Liquefied dust was injected in the test; Due to the elastic material, this contamination does not have a negative effect on the function. The abrasion resistance of the metallic ball studs was also tested in the in-house laboratory.
