Connector developed with the help of the digital twin

Lapp

Lapp has developed a connector whose technical properties have been simulated using virtual models.

The two series M12K for energy transmission up to 630V/12A and M12L up to 60V/16A were tested virtually before the first 3D printed model was created. The limit of power transmission with ever smaller plugs is first evaluated virtually and then transferred to the first prototypes and series production. Compared to the connectors previously developed by Lapp, this leads to significantly smaller sizes, and with improved power transmission.

The new Epic Power M12L and M12K connectors are suitable, for example, for small robots, so-called "cobots", which work together with people in production or in the warehouse. Or also for driverless transport systems (DTS) as used in logistics centers.
