Compact bearings with integrated magnetic mounts
Rodriguez
In the present case, however, it is not just the compact design that poses a challenge: the additional inclusion of magnets for the direct drive motor reduces the wall thickness to a minimum - the bearing performance must not suffer as a result. The Rodriguez experts also faced a problem with the seal: Despite the thin wall thickness, it should guarantee a high sealing effect.
The result is impressive: The integration of bores, mounting cones and magnets for the direct drive motor, among other things, results in an extremely compact and highly precise system solution with a very small concentricity and axial run-out (less than 5 µm). Thanks to Rodriguez's system solution, the customer was even able to make his entire unit even more compact.
