Chromasens allPIXA: New High-End Colour Line Scan Camera
The new high-performance industrial colour line scan camera allPIXA from Chromasens features the latest generation in image processing technology and camera electronics. This allows it to increase the line frequency to a previously unattainable 96 kHz: a 2.5-fold increase in comparison with its predecessor. In order to be able to transmit the generated data quantities in real time, the allPIXA is also equipped with a new interface, which allows maximum transfer rates of 450 MB/s. This means that the objects being examined can either be inspected at the previous image quality but considerably quicker, or at the same speed as before and in more detail.
Modern, trilinear CCD colour line scan sensors with a pixel size of 10 μm form the basis for the image capturing in the allPIXA models. The platform for electronic image processing is based on state-of-the-art chip technology from the US company Xilinx. The allPIXA colour line scan camera is available in four resolutions: 1024, 2048, 4096 and 7300 pixels. The resolution of the A/D conversion has been considerably increased from 10 bit to 14 bit.
"With allPIXA, Chromasens is responding to increasing demands on the functions and performance of industrial line scan cameras. The application fields range from document scanners and print quality inspection to sorting systems and quantity controls, as well as particularly in surface inspection of semiconductors and displays, for example, or in the inspection of natural and artificial materials such as wood, paper and food", explains Markus Schnitzlein, President of Chromasens GmbH.
