Automatic modal hammer for hot and cramped test environments

17.05.2022 - With an extended temperature range of up to 120°C, a robust stainless steel housing and a compact design, the SAM (Scalable Automatic Modal Hammer) models from NV-Tech Design now have expanded specifications.

Polytec has included the excitation technology in its program as part of its product range of non-contact laser vibration measurement technology and evaluation software for modal analyzes and vibro-acoustic quality tests. The company liked the very precisely reproducible force excitation up to frequencies of more than 20 kHz, which support the modal test of non-linear structures in particular.

In addition to temperature resistance, vibration tests in environmental test chambers require a compact design due to the restricted installation space. This enables any orientation of the hammer to the appropriate excitation point. At 1.1 kg for the model up to 200N and 2.6 kg for the more powerful version up to 2200N, the automatic hammers can be easily adjusted on flexible measuring stands.
