VDMA Conveyor Technology and Intralogistics Association has a new chairman

26.02.2024 - Jan Drömer, Chief Information Officer (CIO) at ek robotics, will take over as chairman of the conveyor technology and intralogistics specialist association for the next two years

As chairman of the association's board, Jan Drömer represents more than 250 German and European member companies from the areas of driverless transport systems, industrial trucks, cranes and hoists, warehouse technology and continuous conveyors. “Companies are faced with major challenges. Economic and political uncertainties as well as bureaucratic hurdles are blocking day-to-day business in many areas. As an industry, having a strong association voice is more important than ever and I am pleased that I can lead and represent the trade association on behalf of many German and European intralogistics providers,” emphasizes Jan Drömer upon taking up his position. The 44-year-old has been active as a board member in the then newly founded driverless transport systems department since 2018 and succeeds Steffen Bersch, who resigned from SSI Schäfer, as chairman of the board.

Despite the current domestic and foreign policy situations, the new chairman also sees development opportunities for the areas of intralogistics and conveyor technology: “Despite all the obstacles, we must not forget to look at the potential for the industry. Manufacturing-X also offers an exciting field of action for companies in the field of intralogistics and conveyor technology. Hopefully I can set the course here thanks to my professional background in professional association work,” says Drömer.
