Ifm takes over startup Sentinum
30.08.2023 - Since mid-May, Sentinum has been part of the Ifm group of companies as a wholly owned subsidiary of Ifm Group Services.
The startup from Nuremberg develops and sells wireless sensors that are mainly used for smart city and smart building applications. A typical example is a flood early warning system for which Sentinum supplies a radar sensor. In combination with the app from the cooperation partner Spekter, municipalities can recognize floods at an early stage and warn the residents.
In addition to the three founders, Sentinum currently has one permanent employee and eleven students. The move to the Ifm Solutions building in Fürth took place last month. The young company will strengthen the area of pre-development there and test prototypes on the market. That's why Sentinum will continue to exist as a brand and appear in the Smart City area. To coordinate the integration into the Ifm world and as an interface to the group, Dr. Alexander Kahlig has been sent to the management of Sentinum and supports the team there.
