IVAM: companies think sanctions against Russia are right
War in Ukraine also affects high-tech companies
The Russian attack on Ukraine will not remain without consequences for the hightech industry in Europe. As part of its Executive Panel, the IVAM Microtechnology Network has surveyed the current mood regarding the Ukraine crisis among selected executives in the micro and nanotechnology industry.
The majority of respondents anticipate significant, in some cases even devastating, effects on the high-tech industry.
With regard to the general impact on the entire European high-tech industry, the majority (52 %) of respondents expect to see significant effects. 3 % even expect devastating effects in various areas of the high-tech industry.
Furthermore, 14 % of the experts were still unsure at the time of the survey whether effects of the war will be felt in Europe, 31 % were confident and do not expect any further effects on the industry.
Regarding the sanctions imposed on Russia, the industry experts were united: the sanctions are at least appropriate, if not too weak. None of the respondents stated that the sanctions were too drastic or that no sanctions should be imposed.
