iPronics appoints Ana Gonzalez as Director of Strategic Partnerships
Knowledge of the photonics industry and technology to realize company vision
Ana joins iPronics after more than fifteen years of expertise in photonic integration, strategy, operations, and sales. She spent five years at the European Photonics Industry Consortium (EPIC) as R&D manager identifying business opportunities among the European ecosystem and facilitating the exploitation of R&D results in the photonics community.
Gonzalez graduated from the Autonomous University of Barcelona with a Bachelor of Chemistry. She also holds a PhD in diagnosis developing photonic devices for medical applications from the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Spain.
“Ana’s knowledge of the photonics industry and technology is the perfect fit to realize our long-term vision for the company,” says Prof Jose Capmany, chief operations officer at iPronics.
The company has developed the first general-purpose photonic processor that is reconfigurable by software. It opens the door to endless commercial applications that require faster, lower consumption, and cheaper computational power such as 5G, data centers, lidar, and AI. iPronics was recently selected by Nature as one of the university spinoffs to watch worldwide.
