Zeiss participates in sensor spin-off

24.10.2019 -

With the help of Senorics GmbH, a spin-off of the TU Dresden, Zeiss wants to produce small, inexpensive sensors for spectroscopic applications. To this end, the optics and metrology group invested an undisclosed sum in the young company and at the same time signed a partnership with it. As part of this, Zeiss supports Senorics in the development and marketing of the products.

The spectroscopic sensors are used in industrial environments, for example in quality control and process monitoring. Target industries include the food, agricultural, plastics and pharmaceutical industries. Here, the spectroscopic sensors can measure ingredients in many solids and liquids.

"First of all, we want to look at common use cases, and Senorics' innovative technology has the potential to enable compact and cost-effective sensors, for example, for ingredient analysis. Philipp Strack, Head of Zeiss Ventures.
