Zeiss Opens New Microscopy Customer Center

On April 24, 2017 Zeiss opened the new Zeiss Microscopy Customer Center Europe at the Oberkochen location. It is Zeiss's largest customer center, which offers both light and electron and X-ray microscopy in one center. Here, users from industry and science can try out correlative workflows between the various microscopy technologies and get to know modern 3D microscopy.

On two floors and a total area of 1,200 square meters, the complete microscopy technology portfolio will be presented in a modern environment.

In addition, the customer center has a laboratory with protection level 1 for working with living biological agents. Several hundred customers a year can test the extensive microcopy portfolio and the handling and application possibilities for product training.

The Zeiss Microscopy Customer Center Europe is the central customer center of the Microscopy division in Europe. For this purpose, the customer center for light microscopy, which had previously been based in Munich, was relocated to Oberkochen. "The location is particularly attractive as the customers in Oberkochen, at the head office of the Zeiss Group, can get to know the other Zeiss business units and visit the Zeiss Museum of Optics," says Justus Felix Wehmer, CO CEO of Zeiss Microscopy.

The opening of the customer center was celebrated with around 170 customers from Europe. Professor Dr. Ralf B. Wehrspohn, Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Microstructure of Materials and Systems (IMWS, Halle), gave the guests impulses, digital transformation and the associated opportunities and challenges for microscopy in his guest lectures.
