W3+ Fair Wetzlar cancelled for this year
Trade fair for optics, photonics, electronics and mechanics
Despite falling incidences and a perceived mood of departure, there are still too many requirements that make the actual reason for the trade show - networking - impossible, the organizer is certain. The new date is now March 16/17, 2022 in Wetzlar.
Project Director Jörg Brück: "We as organizers are very sorry, especially for our exhibitors and partners, because there is a lot of heart and soul in the preparations. However, after all the positive feedback and the many new suggestions of the last few weeks, we have tailwind with which we are now focusing on an even stronger trade fair in March 2022."
The last event, held in late February 2020 just before the outbreak of the Corona pandemic, saw 180 exhibitors meet just over 2,800 visitors.
W3+ Fair 2021 in the Rhine Valley to take place anyway
Not affected by the cancellation is the W3+ Fair 2021 in the Rhine Valley, which is scheduled to open the high-tech trade fair autumn in the four-country region on Lake Constance from September 22-23, 2021, as planned. The event sees itself as a door opener into the high-tech region with its focus on research and development.
The W3+ Fair in detail
The event is based on an industrial initiative in Wetzlar and Central Hesse, which aims to promote networking between the four sectors of optics, photonics, electronics and mechanics. New interfaces are intended to get forward-looking technologies off the ground. The trade fair was held for the first time in February 2014 at the Rittal Arena in Wetzlar. W3+ Fair is hosted by the Hamburg-based trade show organizer Fleet Events (fleet-events.de). In September 2019, W3+ Fair Rheintal celebrated its premiere in the four-country region of Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Germany with Gold Partners EPIC, Swissphotonics and Photonics Austria.
