Vision 2021: Panel Discussion - Is Deep Learning Just Hype?

Industrial Vision Days 2021

29.09.2021 - What is the Deep Learning hype all about? This question will be discussed by five proven experts on the first day of the machine vision trade show "Vision": Dr. Dietmar Ley (Basler), Jens Hülsmann (Isra Vision), Dr. Olaf Munkelt (MVTec Software), Mark Williamson (Stemmer Imaging) and Donato Montanari (Zebra Technologies). The panel discussion will be moderated by inspect editor-in-chief David Löh.

Advances in computing power today enable complex algorithms that were still unthinkable in the 1980s - during the first AI hype. Nevertheless, the euphoria surrounding Deep Learning is waning somewhat, because previously unimagined problem areas are opening up. So is the title of the panel discussion right: "Deep Learning: Much ado about nothing, again?"

Interested visitors can watch the expert discussion free of charge, on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 from 1 to 2 pm. The Industrial Vision Days will take place in Hall 8 at booth C70. Pre-registration is not necessary.

The complete lecture program can be found at https://www.vision-messe.de/ivd-programm.
