Trade fair confirmed as an international platform

23.10.2024 - Stuttgart trade fair Quantum Effects 2024 closes with a significant increase in participants – great support from politics.

Since its inaugural event last year, Quantum Effects has been regarded as the world’s leading trade fair and conference with an annual cycle for application-oriented quantum technologies. The second edition of the event once again impressed with a high level: around 2,500 participants (2023: 2,334), found their way to the Stuttgart exhibition hall to find out about future topics from 85 exhibitors (2023: 75), to establish networks, to discuss projects and to cultivate scientific exchange.

Participants from 27 countries were welcomed, which together accounted for 12 % of foreign participants. According to a representative survey, quantum computers (51 %), and quantum applications (29 %), were the most interesting items on offer, followed by quantum sensors and imaging (26 %), hardware components (23 %), and quantum security / communication (15 %). The lecture program on the three stages in the hall also met with great interest.

In addition to the new focus theme parks on medical technology and AI/high-performance computing, the highlights of Quantum Effects 2024 included the start-up investment pitches where experienced investors met with visionary start-ups, the Quantum Effects Awards, and the tour offers on quantum technology, which were gladly accepted by the audience. The CEO dinner on Monday evening in the New Palace was also well received, as was the appearance of the trade fair’s first partner country, the Netherlands.

There was a positive response from the exhibitors and visitors. Of those surveyed, 93 % expressed an intention to visit again, and a full 95 % want to recommend the trade fair to others.

The next Quantum Effects will take place on 7 and 8 October 2025 at the Messe Stuttgart exhibition center.
