Topic wins Aries as distributor for embedded systems

System-on-Modules product family Miami

14.04.2021 - As of April 1, 2021, Aries Embedded, a specialist for embedded services and products, has taken over distribution of Topic's Miami family of System-on-Modules for Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Rieny Rijnen, CEO and founder of Topic, is looking forward to the collaboration: "With Aries Embedded as a partner, even more customers can now benefit from the features and advantages of our modules." Andreas Widder, CEO of Aries Embedded adds, "Topic's 'Miami' SoMs are based on system-on-chips (SoCs) from Xilinx. Thus, they perfectly complement our FPGA-based SoM portfolio. In particular, applications with (secure) communication, audio/video, and medical and industrial image processing benefit from the good performance and high density of the programmable logic."

The Miami System-on-Modules family

The Miami MPSoC SoM integrates all key functionalities to deliver a complete computer system running e.g. Linux or FreeRTOS. The modules are based on Xilinx SoC 16 nm technology using Zynq Ultrascale+-ZU6/ZU9/ZU15. The Miami MPSoC Plus also offers up to 8 GBytes of DDR4 RAM (32/64 or 72-bit wide) and 420 pins.

The Miami Zynq SoM is based on the Xilinx Zynq-7012S/7015/7030 SoC. It combines an ARM-based application microprocessor with FPGA logic in one chip. The SoM is also available as a Lite version with reduced resources for price-sensitive applications and as a Plus version with 10 Gb transceivers and one DDR3 memory bank each for CPU and FPGA.
