Start-up World again part of the Vision trade fair
Support program for young companies in machine vision
In addition to national companies, the Start-up World at Vision 2022 is expected to feature numerous international start-ups - including some from India, Israel, Japan, Canada and Latvia. A total of 18 young companies have already registered.
"For us, participation in Vision 2022 is our entry into the European market. Here we would like to meet new partners and present our Vue Robot Vision software. The goal is to impress visitors with its human-like speed and perception in robot guidance for reaching into boxes, packaging, assembly, packing and other demanding applications," said Manuel A Sordo, Chief Revenue Officer at Apera AI from Canada.
Also participating in Vision for the first time is Saccade Vision. The company is based in Israel and specializes in the field of industrial quality assurance. For the Saccade Vision team, participation in Vision Start-up World is particularly important: "Our goal is to show how 3D quality inspection can be used autonomously, quickly and precisely to work more efficiently and at the same time drastically reduce quality inspection costs ", says Alex Shulman, Co-Founder & CEO of Saccade Vision.
Vision Start-up Pitch as a big stage
Together with the VDMA Machine Vision department and the VDMA Start-up Machine network, the trade show offers young companies another presentation opportunity with the Start-up Pitch Sessions. As part of the Industrial Vision Days forum, four companies can present their innovations on the large forum stage on each day of the trade fair in front of the trade visitors on site but also to viewers worldwide as part of the broadcast live stream.
At the end of each day of the trade fair, the start-up of the day will be chosen from the four companies. Finally, the Vision Start-up 2022 will then be chosen on the last day of the fair. "It will be incredibly exciting to experience the diversity of topics and to see where we are and where the journey is going," said Florian Niethammer, Vision project manager.
Tobias Kreklow, Managing Director of Haip Solutions, emphasizes the development of hyperspectral imaging in particular: "Hyperspectral imaging will take on enormous importance in the coming years for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In addition to the classic industrial optical sorting applications such as in recycling or the food industry, imaging processes will also find their way into the field of plant cultivation or indoor farming applications. Vision-Start-up World with the pitch offers us the opportunity to finally present our solutions to a larger audience and to establish important contacts in the industry."
Sponsored participation at the joint stand of the German Federal Ministry of Economics.
Young companies from Germany can receive funding to participate in the joint stand of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK) as part of Vision. Already two months before the trade fair, eleven companies have registered for the funded joint booth - from providers of AI-supported or hyperspectral image processing to lighting manufacturers and solution providers. This marks a new record number of registrations for the joint booth this year.
At the BMWK joint booth, Parkvi offers exclusive special solutions as a system integrator for requirements that are difficult to solve. With AI-based weld seam and surface inspections, the Augsburg-based company has expanded its service portfolio and will present it at Vision.
"Perfect opportunity for newcomers"
Mark Williamson, chairman of VDMA's Machine Vision department and managing director of Stemmer Imaging Ltd. summarizes the developments, "Machine vision is a key technology of digitalization, both inside and outside the factory environment. In recent years, we have witnessed many changes, including company mergers and the addition of new players. These include innovative start-ups that bring new ideas and approaches to the traditional machine vision sector. Vision, with its Start-up World and daily pitch sessions, offers newcomers the perfect opportunity to meet and discuss their approaches with established players and experts in the field."
"From the latest camera technologies, software from the field of artificial intelligence or deep learning to exciting image processing systems - revolutionary thoughts and innovative proposed solutions ensure that the image processing industry is highly dynamic," Florian Niethammer emphasizes. "This makes it all the more important to offer start-ups an appropriate stage and give them the chance to raise the potential of the machine vision industry to a new level!"
