ON Semiconductor appoints new CEO

Hassane El-Khoury succeeds Keith Jackson

08.12.2020 -

Following the announcement in September of the resignation of Keith Jackson, former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ON Semiconductor, the semiconductor manufacturer is appointing Hassane El-Khoury as his successor with immediate effect. As of December 7, 2020, El-Khoury is President, CEO and member of the Board of Directors of the US corporation. Jackson will continue to serve the company as a consultant until the end of May 2021 to ensure an effective leadership transition.

Prior to joining ON Semiconductor, El-Khoury served as President, Chief Executive Officer and Member of the Board of Directors of Cypress Semiconductor until its sale to Infineon in April 2020. During his thirteen years at Cypress, he held various roles in business unit management, product development, application engineering and business development.

On Semi's market capitalization increased from 1.2 billion to 5.5 billion US-Dollars

El-Khoury holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master in Engineering Management. He is also currently a member of the board of Keracel, which specializes in battery and additive manufacturing.

"During his nearly two decades at the helm, Keith ON Semiconductor has transformed itself from a 1.2 billion US-Dollars standard product supplier into a 5.5 billion US-Dollars global semiconductor leader," said Alan Campbell, Chairman of the Board. "On behalf of the global workforce, I would like to thank Keith for his leadership and contributions to ON Semiconductor and acknowledge his critical insights into the company over the coming months that will strengthen a seamless transition of leadership."
