PI increases hexapod production
Physics Instruments (PI) has increased production of its hexapods. They are in high demand.
The focus of the restructuring was the optimization and relocation of the entire “Hexapods” production area to newly designed premises as well as the increase in personnel. The measures are part of the company-wide investment program with a volume of more than 63 million euros. This is intended to tap the above-average growth opportunities for PI in the markets of industrial automation, semiconductor manufacturing and photonics as well as microscopy and life sciences.
The factory layout for the new hexapod production was developed by PI experts, supported by specialists from the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Engineering and Automation IPA. It takes into account modern findings from ergonomics, digitalization, automation and lean approaches.
