Macnica ATD expands portfolio with AI-powered computer vision solutions

Artificial intelligence in production

18.02.2022 - Macnica ATD is expanding its portfolio to include AI-powered computer vision solutions from Retrocausal. The U.S. company specializes in systems that help manufacturing employees avoid assembly errors and make their daily work more efficient.

Through intelligent observation, Retrocausal's Pathfinder Apollo action recognition system analyzes complex manual tasks to assist operators in assembly, preventing assembly errors. It can also be used to improve teach-in of manual and repetitive tasks on the assembly line.

Pathfinder software is a hardware-independent platform that detects any error in task performance by operators on an assembly line and triggers audible and visual alerts when the error occurs. In addition, the system continuously performs time studies, enabling better control and management of manual activities.

"We welcome Retrocausal in our distribution family. This not only adds another leading and innovative AI specialist to our portfolio but also represents another step in further vertical diversification of Macnica operations in Europe" says Fabio Sousa, Technology Solutions Division Director at Macnica ATD Europe.
