Great Success for Framos Image Sensor Tech Days
10.05.2017 -
The ImageSensor Tech Days in their second edition reached very high popularity and a new participant record. The information and exchange platform for camera developers and R & D engineers, designed by the image processing specialist Framos, presented technical innovations and detailed research and measurement results of current image sensors. The participants praised above all the deep technical exchange with the market-leading manufacturers Sony, ON Semiconductor and Teledyne e2v as well as the practice-oriented lectures and live demos.
In particular the presence of the Japanese developers from Sony inspired the more than 40 participants in Munich. The largest sensor manufacturer showed, among other things, a live demonstration of its latest sensor models from the third C-MOS generation. Sony and its technical experts for questions and answers rarely come close to that. Other leading sensor manufacturers, Teledyne e2v and ON Semiconductor, also presented their latest lines and innovations, such as the Emerald series and the latest EMCCD sensors. In addition, your experts were able to discuss the questions in a comprehensive presentation and networking round.
"We are very proud to have once again created a successful platform for the exchange between manufacturers and developers with the Image Sensor Tech Days," says Framo CEO Dr. Andreas Franz. "The positive feedback encourages us to expand the event further. With a focus on detailed technical innovations from our partners and our own experts as well as live demos for practical questions from the everyday life of our customers, we are already looking forward to the next exchange in 2018. "
The lectures on the assembly of sensors (WEPTECH) as well as the need for suitable lenses, presented by the Japanese engineers from Computar, were met with great interest. Sunex talked about the possibilities of lens-based HDR optimization, the Framos experts went into detail in the avoidance of color errors and distortions as well as the current measurements from the Framos EMVA laboratory.
With his detailed presentation of the dilemma of every camera developer, the question "Build vs. Buy, "and the criteria for this decision inspired Darren Bessette of Framos a lively debate and inspired many of the present developers to think. As a future-oriented graduate, Dr. Christoph Scheubel talked about the potential of deep learning and the opportunity to start with sensors and intelligent algorithms in a new age of image processing.
"These were two very interesting days, especially for networking with industry colleagues and the direct exchange of experts with the manufacturers. I bring answers to concrete questions with back into the company, which helps enormously. Next year, I will bring a few more colleagues, "one of the participants expressed his enthusiasm in words. The Framos Image Sensor Tech Days will be held again in 2018.
