Experience on Vision 2012
18.10.2012 -
Landesmesse Stuttgart, organizer of the Vision 2012, has unveiled what special exhibitions can be visited during Vision 2012.
Special exhibition of international image processing standards
Under the slogan "Hands-on Standards", the international associations AIA, EMVA and JIIA present the special exhibition „International Image Processing Standards" with specific applications which are intended to help visitors to resolve their interface problems. In discussions with the developers, you can obtain useful information about data interfaces such as CameraLink, CoaXPress, CameraLink HS, GigE-Vision or USB 3.
Medical Discovery Tour
The Medical Discovery Tour directly addresses visitors from the field of medicine. A tour leads to the stands of exhibitors who are presenting innovative image processing applications on this special subject. The participating companies are indicated both in the exhibition catalogue and on-site with the Medical Discovery Tour logo.
VISION Academy
The instruction provided by the VISION Academy is directed to both newcomers and end users, as well as to system providers and mechanical engineers. On all three days of the exhibition, the VISION Academy offers half-hour knowledge modules. The user seminars provide orientation as to how the use of image processing can lead to success and give hints and tricks on how the quality of imaging can be improved with optical systems and lighting. They also give a brief overview of the possibility of generating 3D images and present the new fields of application of Sercos - the field bus with real-time capability.
Industrial Vision Days
Over the past 15 years the Industrial VISION Days have developed into the world's largest image processing forum. By tradition, they are organised by the VDMA specialist department for industrial image processing. About 3,000 forum visitors are expected to attend the more than 40 highly qualified lectures during the VISION 2012.
Podium discussion: Make or buy? Standardisation for image processing Programming interfaces for cameras or standardisation efforts for data interfaces are all specially tailored to the needs of industrial image processing. However, standardisation is also coupled with high costs and a great deal of effort. How does this affect the market? Will special standards still be needed in the future, or are the standards from the world of consumer electronics sufficient? This round of discussions, which is organised by the journal INSPECT will be held in the context of the Industrial VISION Days on the second day of teh exhibition from 14:00 to 15:00.
Integration Area
The Integration Area is a topically restricted area, which is explicitly intended for system integrators and solution providers. It is the first port of call for all visitors who are specifically looking for applications. It is the VISION's response to the increasing demand for turnkey image processing systems for inspection, robot control, quality control and identification.
VDMA Technology Days
In the context of the „VDMA Technology Days for Industrial Image Processing", which were held for the first time at the 25th VISION exhibition, research institutes from several countries allow specialist visitors an insight into the main fields of their future technologies for industrial image processing under the slogan "Research meets industry". The special exhibition will be held on an area of 150 square metres in the foyer of the main entrance to Exhibition Hall 1.
