As the planned business conference in Sofia, Bulgaria, was cancelled due to the Corona crisis, EMVA organised the conference virtually for the first time. It took place in an online format on Friday, June 26, 2020. More than 130 registered attendees enjoyed a mix of presentations addressing various up-to-date technical aspects and updates on machine vision standards as well as how to organise sales processes with the restrictions caused by a worldwide pandemic.

All conference breaks were efficiently used for prescheduled B2B meetings, this time in the form of online 1:1 video calls.

EMVA President Chris Yates and EMVA General Manager Thomas Lübkemeier are looking forward already: "For the first time we did our annual conference as online event and we are very satisfied especially because of the first positive feedbacks received from participants directly afterwards. But obviously we hope to get back to physical conferences, forums and trade shows soon -  surely the 2021 Business Conference from June 10-12, 2021 in Sofia will be a very special highlight next year."
