11.03.2010 -

This year's EMVA conference will take place in Istanbul, a unique city being located at the crossroads of East and West and offering exciting and exotic impressions. Furthermore, Istanbul is named as the European Capital of Culture 2010, which creates more attractive events and exhibitions of art.
Since its beginning in 2003 the well-established EMVA conference has attracted numerous attendees from all over the world, professionals, executives, experts and analysts of the machine vision industry. The last conference united participants from over 20 countries. A similar level of internationality is expected for this year's conference. The conference programme consists of four different thematic sessions focused on machine vision in Turkey, business trends, machine vision markets and technology trends. It is available on www.emva.org/conference/istanbul.

In the session "Machine Vision in Turkey" one contribution will give you an insight in the Turkish economy, what prospects, opportunities and challenges you could expect. In addition, an example of successful outsourcing of camera design to Turkey will be presented. Further lectures will give overviews of the Turkish machine vision industry and how it is increasingly applied in the manufacturing sector.
The session "Business Trends" will offer a panel discussion on research opportunities in Europe. Furthermore the attendees can expect a motivational speech on leadership after the crisis by Mark McGregor. The former Canadian ice-hockey player and internationally renowned business coach will share his wide range of experiences and strategies.
The session "Machine Vision Markets" will place emphasis on the North American, the Japanese and the European markets. The attendees will receive information on business development and current figures, not previously presented.
The session "Technology Trends" addresses the question, what opportunities service robotics offers for machine vision and how augmented reality, robotic co-workers and intuitive interaction require machine vision to revolutionize production.

As usual, the conference gives the attendees the opportunity to reinforce their network among industry peers. It will start with the get-together on Thursday evening in the vivid Taksim area. The conference dinner on Friday evening will take place at the famous Adile Sultan Palace overlooking the Bosphorus. An optional guided walking tour of the Blue Mosque, the Hippodrome and the Hagia Sofia will conclude the conference on the Saturday afternoon.
