Call for contributions for first European Machine Vision Forum
15.06.2016 -
The European Machine Vision Association (EMVA) this year debuts with a unique conference concept: The first European Machine Vision Forum is a new annual two-day event with the special focus to foster interaction between the machine vision industry and academic research. It will take place for the first time from 08 – 09 September at Heidelberg University, Germany. The focus of the premiere event is on ‘image processing algorithms – from low level to deep learning’.
Call for contributions to poster and demo teaser sessions
The new conference is directed to scientists, development engineers, software and hardware engineers, and programmers both from research and industry. All participants can actively contribute to the conference program as they are invited to submit a poster, software demo or an open problem from an industrial application which is then discussed during one of the four poster and demo sessions taking place between the 12 top-notch conference speeches. Submissions are possible until 19 August upon registration on the forum websites at www.emva-forum.org.
First European platform where industry and academic research meet
Many conferences target either academic researchers or applied industrial developers. However, on the European level, until now there has been no forum where machine vision research and industry can meet and network. Thus, the European Machine Vision Forum fills an important gap where now both disciplines can learn from each other, discuss the latest research results as well as problems from applications, learn about emerging application fields, and discuss research cooperation between industry players and academic institutes. The overall objective of the new conference event is to establish a vivid network between industry and academics which serves as a basis to accelerate the transformation of academic innovation into industry practice.
The 1st European Machine Vision Forum is supported by the Heidelberg Collaboratory on Image Processing (HCI) at the Interdisciplinary Center for Scientific Calculation (IWR), an industry-on-campus project of Heidelberg University.
