Basler expands company headquarters in Ahrensburg by 9,500 sqm
Ground-breaking took place
With a ground-breaking ceremony on 19 November 2020, Basler's Board of Management gave the starting signal for the expansion of the company building in Ahrensburg. The extension will cover approx. 9,500 sqm and provide additional office workstations for approx. 350 employees. The new building is planned to have six floors with direct access to the existing building as well as a large bistro and multifunctional areas for employees and guests.
Extensive preparatory work has already been carried out in advance. For example, a rainwater retention basin was installed to make room for the new building and a canteen kitchen was built for the staff restaurant that is now being built. The camera manufacturer expects the new building to be completed in summer 2022.
Hardy Mehl, the member of the Board of Management responsible for the project, is very much looking forward to the start of the expansion: "The plan to create space for our growing company by expanding the building was made long before 2020 and the corona pandemic. Our business has also developed positively over the past few months, and we are therefore continuing to look to the future with optimism. With the new building we are investing in a very attractive and highly modern working environment for our current and future colleagues. Even though we have had positive experiences with virtual collaboration in recent months, our buildings remain the central place to cultivate our corporate culture and team spirit, which are central to our success".
