30.08.2024 - With the acquisition, the company aims to expand its position in industrial emissions measurement

ABB today announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire Födisch Group, a leading developer of advanced measurement and analytics solutions for the energy and industry sectors. With the acquisition, ABB is expanding its continuous emission monitoring system (CEMS) offering and strengthening its competitiveness in technology and innovation. This will broaden ABB's portfolio and enable customers to tackle the most demanding measurement tasks. Födisch Group generated revenues of around EUR 50 million in 2023 with around 250 employees. The acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions. Financial terms of the transaction, which is expected to close by the end of the year, were not disclosed.

Födisch Group is based in Markranstädt, Germany, where it operates a 3,000 square meter production facility; it has additional locations in Germany, the Netherlands and China. The company offers its customers comprehensive solutions to address environmental, testing and certification challenges in various industries from a single source. The Födisch Group's integrated analysis systems support the cost-effective monitoring of pollutant emissions and are widely used in power plants, waste incineration plants, and the paper, glass, and cement industries.

The Födisch Group's offering complements ABB's portfolio of measurement and analysis solutions, expanding it to include additional continuous gas analyzers and dust and particle measurements. Thanks to ABB's global sales and service network, customers will benefit from a comprehensive range of solutions that help address global energy and sustainability challenges.
