79. Heidelberger Bildverarbeitungsforum

Embedded Vision II: Computer Architectures and Systems

22.09.2021 - Following the success of the first four online imaging forums from July 2020 to July 2021, the 79th forum will also be held online. All of the valued features will remain: a virtual host appropriate to the focus topic that people can get to know better, high-quality presentations with discussion, and a virtual exhibition and discussion opportunities among participants that are tailored to the focus topic. A total of five quarter-hour exhibition blocks are available and three dates for video talks in virtual rooms.

The topic this time is Embedded Vision II: Computer Architectures and Systems. After more than two decades of standard PC systems as workhorses for machine vision, embedded vision systems ("edge computing") are becoming more and more important with the fast advancing miniaturization and lower energy consumption and can solve more and more complex tasks. As different and especially heterogeneous architectures are used with ASICs, FPGA, DSP, GPU and classical CPUs mixed in, the pressing question is what are the crucial advantages and disadvantages of the different architectures and for which machine vision tasks they are best suited.

The online event saves all participants time and travel costs, and they can also listen to the recorded talks at a later date. For exhibitors, the forum offers a good opportunity to present their new developments that match the main topic to exactly the right target group. If you as an exhibitor are interested, you can already book an exhibition block during the online registration or contact us directly.

The 79th "Heidelberger Bildverarbeitungsforum" will take place with the kind support of Phytec.
