RS employees build manual washing machines for refugees
11.02.2025 - More than 60 volunteers came together at the Bad Hersfeld distribution center to build manual washing machines with TWMP representatives.
RS, a global provider of product and service solutions, has been working with The Washing Machine Project (TWMP) for over three years to help refugees and low-income people worldwide. Recently, over 60 volunteers met at the Bad Hersfeld distribution center to build manual washing machines together with TWMP representatives. Within a week, 20 machines were produced and sent to Lesbos in Greece. The Divya washing machine, a flat-pack, manually operated machine, significantly reduces the time and water required. Since the partnership began in 2021, RS has supported the project with volunteers and components. The initiative has already had a positive impact in 13 countries. The distribution center in Bad Hersfeld, equipped with modern warehouse management systems and a solar power system, is an important part of RS's global supply chain network.
