In a few weeks, Electronica will start in Munich together with Semicon Europa: From November 12 to 15, 2024, over 3,000 exhibitors from all over the world will present their latest products and solutions. The extensive accompanying program impresses with practice-oriented forums, conferences and numerous special events. Electronica is thus creating an international dialogue platform that paves the way to the All Electric Society, in which the entire energy requirement is covered by CO²-neutrally generated electricity.

"Electronica 2024 is already a great success," says Exhibition Director Katja Stolle happily. "We have 18 full halls, an excellent accompanying program and we can feel how much the exhibitors are looking forward to this year's trade fair." Among them are many industry experts who will impart their practical knowledge in lectures and discussion rounds as part of the Electronica Forums. These take place on six different stages directly in the respective exhibition areas and cover almost all fields of application of electronics. The subject areas range from automotive to electrical connectors and embedded to IIoT and power electronics. The program was redesigned in 2024 by expanding existing subject areas and setting new priorities such as AI machine learning and women in tech.
 

Insights into new automotive and wireless trends

Parallel to Electronica, two top international conferences will take place in the ICM (International Congress Center). The Electronica Automotive Conference on November 11th will bring together specialists and managers from across the supply chain. Keynote speakers include industry leaders such as Peter Schiefer, Automotive President of Infineon Technologies, and Gregg Lowe, CEO of Wolfspeed. This year, the focus will be on trends and challenges in the areas of electrification, sustainability and cybersecurity, as well as developments in interior trends and driver assistance systems. The Wireless Congress: Systems & Applications on November 13th and 14th will bring together the international wireless community and will focus on the latest developments and practical applications of advanced wireless systems in industry.
 

CEOs in conversation

A highlight of every electronica is the CEO roundtable, which takes place on the evening before the first day of the trade fair, November 11, from 5 p.m. in the ICM. This year, the high-profile panel discussion will speak on the topic of "Leading the way to the All Electric Society". The CEOs Jean-Marc Chery (STMicroelectronics), Jochen Hanebeck (Infineon Technologies) and Kurt Sievers (NXP Semiconductors) will be there, as well as invited guest Barbara Bergmeier, Executive Director Industrial Operations at Jaguar Land Rover.

​Designing a sustainable future

The topic of sustainability runs like a thread through the exhibition area and the supporting program. In addition to numerous lectures on the various stages and in the conferences, a number of special events are also dedicated to this topic. The bgreen leaders network, for example, is offering a day program on November 13 that focuses on the latest trends and challenges in the areas of sustainability and the circular economy with lectures and panel discussions. At the All Electric Society Tour, supported by ZVEI, visitors can experience live their contribution to the All Electric Society on an individual tour of the stands of selected exhibitors.

Stage for young talents

As a future-oriented industry, the electronics industry needs the best minds. The Electronica Fast Forward platform gives start-ups a stage (B4.440): In collaboration with Elektor, selected young companies get the chance to present their innovations and win the coveted Fast Forward Award. Also new this year is a separate stand (B4.440) for influencers in the electronics scene, where big names such as Max.Imagination, DIY GUY Chris and GreatScott! will be present. Another focus is the topics of careers and young talent. In the Career Area (B4.359) there is daily personal advice on applications and career planning as well as the job exchange with industry information and exclusive job offers. The Young Talents Day on the last day of the fair, November 15, offers schoolchildren and students an additional program with tours, workshops and career advice with free admission.
