Accelerator card for HPC and big data workloads

Xilinx

Xilinx has introduced the Alveo U55C data center accelerator card and a new standards-based, API-driven clustering solution for FPGA deployments.

The accelerator card offers good wattage performance for high performance computing (HPC) and database applications and is easily scalable via Xilinx's HPC clustering solution. It was specially developed for HPC and Big Data workloads and offers high compute density and HBM capacity.

The U55C card is a single-slot card in FHHL (Full Height, Half Length) form factor with a low maximum power consumption of 150W. It doubles the HBM2 to 16GB compared to its predecessor, the dual-slot card Alveo U280. The U55C offers more computing power in a smaller form factor for building dense clusters based on Alveo accelerators. It is designed for the highest density streaming data, high IO math functions, and complex computing needs such as big data analytics and AI applications that require scale-out.
