IO-Link laser button in M12

ipf Electronic

The new PT120520 laser button with IO-Link interface from ipf electronic achieves scanning ranges of up to 4000mm in M12 despite its compact design. Since the PT120520 works according to the time-of-flight method (time of flight measurement), object detection does not depend on the strength of the reflected light, but on its time of flight.

This enables reliable background suppression to be achieved. A laser diode (laser protection class 1) with invisible infrared light with a wavelength of 880 nm is used as the transmission element.

The particular advantages of IO-Link devices like this laser button are that they can be set very flexibly and also provide useful functions. In the standard setting (short mode), the PT120520 achieves ranges of up to a maximum of 1200mm. Thanks to the integrated IO-Link interface, however, the button can also be switched to long mode and then achieves ranges of up to 4000mm. It comes in a stainless steel housing (protection class IP65) and is designed for ambient temperatures from -10 ° C to + 60 ° C.
