Augmented Reality in Industry - Status, Development, Possibilities

Windays lecture now freely available - Webinar in German

17.06.2021 - A few years ago it was still science fiction, today technology is science fact. What inspires children and adults alike as a gimmick on the mobile phone and the pad, but also has great advantages in production and logistics. In this lecture you will find out what these are, how they can be implemented and what is already being used in practice. The Webinar is in German language.

 

The two speakers are specialists in the field of augmented reality.

Dipl. Math.-Techn. Holger Graf, M.Sc., Fraunhofer IGD

Holger Graf received his diploma in "Technomathematik" (industrial mathematics) from the University of Karlsruhe in 1997 and graduated from the Institute for Computer Science at the University of Bristol (England) in 1998 with an M.Sc. in "Global Computing and Multimedia". Since January 2000 he has been a research assistant at the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics (IGD) in Darmstadt, where he is involved in the integration of CAE esp. Finite Element Methods in VR within the Industrial Applications Department. In addition to his position as a research assistant, he was responsible for coordinating and communicating the activities of Fraunhofer IGD with the services of the European Commission.

Dr. Harald Wuest, CEO & Founder, Visometry GmbH

Dr. Harald Wuest is CEO and founder of the computer vision-oriented startup Visometry and an expert in computer vision. He is a co-developer of several major vision algorithms, including model tracking He leads the team that creates VisionLib, an augmented reality tracking library for the industry. He also took part in every tracking competition at the VW and ISMAR conference, where he was able to lead his team to win the first prize several times.
