Camera Family in Remote Head Versions

Matrox Imaging announced that the company’s Iris P-Series family of programmable smart cameras is available in remote head configurations. This two-piece design, by way of MDR26 connectors, uses a standard Camera Link cable to connect a remote head to a processor unit. “The compactness of the remote head allows it to easily fit into small spaces and offers a lot of flexibility when mounting it to your equipment,” explains product manager Fabio Perelli. The product family is powered by an Ultra Low Power (ULP) Celeron, an embedded Intel architecture processor. The series are smart cameras that support the flexibility of PC-based machine vision systems, and are the first of the company’s products of its kind to feature hardware for image sensing as well as a software API (application programming interface) for image analysis.
