MVTec participated in the Smart Green Island Makeathon 2019. The Munich-based supplier of machine vision standard software supported the event, which took place from 20 to 23 February in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, as Silver Sponsor. At the competition, organized by the company ITQ GmbH, 270 participants from 70 universities from 21 countries were able to demonstrate their technical talent. The participants had the task of developing prototypes for smart, green and innovative products within a short time in teamwork. In addition to money sponsorship, MVTec has also provided its machine vision standard software HALCON for the students. In addition, employees of the company were mentors to the young talents and provided professional support in the development of the projects with this in-house image processing software.

Form development teams and create ideas

The organizer ITQ advises customers in the combination of software and mechanics and wants to inspire young people for technical connections with events such as the Smart Green Island Makeathon on Gran Canaria. As part of the four-day competition, the participants first learned how to form powerful development teams and how to create promising ideas. In several pitches, the young talents presented their proposals, their implementation and project results in front of the approximately 400 participants and guests.
