GE Inspection Technologies invests in Customer Solution Center

27.08.2018 -

GE Inspection Technologies, the non-destructive testing (NDT) industry supplier, today broke ground for a new Customer Solutions Center (CSC). The subsidiary of the international Baker Hughes GE Group invests tens of millions at its Wunstorf site and hires around 100 new skilled workers. The 9,250 square meter site is expected to be completed in 2019 and will then become the technology flagship for customers and partners throughout Europe. The focus is on 2D X-ray systems (X-Ray) and 3D computed tomography (CT) products, complemented by high-tech applications for ultrasonic testing and electromagnetic inspection.

The guest of honor at the ceremony for the groundbreaking ceremony was the Lower Saxony Minister President Stephan Weil. Together with other politicians from the region, he gained insights into the development of modern industrial testing technology made in Germany. The guests were greeted by Holger Laubenthal, CEO of Inspection Technologies.

"The manufacturing industry is changing, and digitization, combined with innovation in our X-ray, CT and other testing technologies, allow us to set new standards in quality assurance and testing," says Laubenthal. "Now we have to be particularly close to the customer, in a place like this: here in the Customer Solutions Center in Wunstorf, our experts will work with our customers to develop technologies to solve individual challenges." We like to see ourselves as problem solvers, and I do not believe anyone otherwise in the industry can offer this high quality service for non-destructive testing. "

Wunstorf CSC will combine advanced NDT technologies under one roof, including X-ray, CT, ultrasound, industrial endoscopy and sensor solutions. In addition, the facility will also house professional part inspection services and provide training in various areas.
