AIA's Machine Vision Camera Study Now Available

21.05.2012 -

AIA's first ever study of the global market for machine vision cameras is now available for purchase. Unlike AIA's annual MV market studies, which provided a limited analysis of camera sales, this new study of the worldwide MV camera market is highly detailed, broader in scope and yet clearly written for easy comprehension by time-pressed sales personnel and upper managers alike.

The study begins with a general description to define the landscape of this important market. It then builds on this description with a retail pricing analysis, a sales analysis and a trend analysis. All in all, the 62-page study consists of seven chapters, each of which provides a clear summary of findings with conclusions that cut through voluminous data.

The study is designed to answer a host of important questions such as:

  • How is the market changing?
  • What are the sweet spots in the market?
  • What product features are the most popular?
  • What geographic regions are contributing the most sales?
  • What factors determine retail pricing?
  • How do different types of cameras compare in terms of their pricing, demand, market penetration and rates of growth?

By answering these and other important questions, the study provides information needed for sales maximization.

Why does this study emphasize cameras? As the "eyes" of a machine vision system, cameras are central, with optics, lighting and imaging boards playing a vital but ancillary role. Because of this relationship, demand for cameras largely drives demand for these other machine vision components, and by analyzing the camera market we also gain important insights into the demand drivers for ancillary components and the markets they comprise.

AIA's camera study is highly recommended for camera manufacturers and suppliers, as well as imaging board, optics, lighting and cable companies that seek to better understand their markets and maximize their sales. Available for immediate purchase ($550 for AIA Members/$950 for non-members).
